Our History
The East Bernstadt Independent School District has long been recognized for its sense of pride and success. Our dedicated staff members are committed to improving the lives of our students, embodying our district's slogan: "It's About the Future of Kids."
Academic Excellence
We are proud of our students' achievements in the 2024 Kentucky Summative Assessment. In the elementary division, 37% of students achieved Proficient in Reading, with 30% reaching Distinguished. In Math, 34% were Proficient, and 15% achieved Distinguished. Our middle school students also excelled, with 41% Proficient and 31% Distinguished in Reading, and 46% Proficient and 28% Distinguished in Math.
Our Community
Located in northern Laurel County, East Bernstadt is a close-knit community with a population of 716 as of the 2010 census. Our school serves as a central hub for families in the area, providing quality education and fostering community spirit.
Post-Elementary Education
After completing eighth grade, our students have the opportunity to attend high school within the Laurel County Public Schools district. They can choose between North Laurel and South Laurel High Schools, with North Laurel being geographically closer to our district.
